ジャニー氏は２０００年代、自宅のエレベーターに４日間閉じ込められたことがあった。救出されるまで、幻覚が見えるほどに衰弱したという。
その時の幻覚は「ゆがんだ時計」「足下に鯉が泳ぐ」などで、後に舞台で“演出”として使用し、この経験を生かした。
